Before Sala left on her mission to Puebla, Mexico in December, we wanted to go on one last awesome girls trip. She knew her parents wouldn't approve of her going to Vegas, so she definitely told them she was going camping in the desert. Yeah... camping in my dad's condo on the Strip. We also had Buker along with us because she's a ton of fun and we both love her. It was only a quick little trip, but it was so much fun.

Day 1
Sala, Buker, and I drove down to Vegas early Friday morning. We got to the condo just in time to lay out for a little bit before getting ready. Buker is a cosmetologist, so she always loved to do my hair and makeup. When we lived together, she'd give me haircuts every few months, paint my nails at least once a month, and do my makeup any time we went out together. I loved living with her.
After getting ready, we went out to eat at a place called Yama Sushi in Chinatown. Buker's kind of boy toy at the time had recommended the place, and it turned out to be really good. I don't love sushi, so I had chicken teriyaki and rice, which was also delicious. They also had mochi ice cream, which is yummy in itself. For some reason, ice cream wrapped in a thin rice paste just works. Who would've thought that was even possible??
After delicious sushi, we ended up at Stoney's Rockin' Country, a country dancing bar that allows minors in on Friday nights. Sala and I were 19 and 18 respectively, so that was necessary. Buker ended up being too tired to come in with us at the beginning, but Sala and I had the best time. They had live country music. Neither Sala nor I knows how to country dance, but we are both good dancers outside of that. We brought a modern twist to the live country dancing there. We also both tried all the line dances. By the time Buker came inside, we were regular old pros. It was honestly one of the funnest nights I've ever had in Vegas.

We ended up getting back to the condo around 3am. After washing off our makeup, we went to bed. I made the mistake of not washing off the giant black X's on my hands and regretted it in the morning. When I woke up, I found I had slept with my face on my hands a lot because my entire face was COVERED in black X's. I had also been wearing a white BYU Baseball t shirt that got destroyed and now has black stains all over it. It honestly was quite funny. The best part may have been that Sala didn't tell me when I woke up. She's an early riser, so she got up way before I did and made sure to laugh at me. We love friends we can laugh with.
Day 2
We woke up late and went to Hash House A Go Go for breakfast. That place is, and forever will be, my favorite restaurant on the planet. They have such delicious food and it's always absolutely massive. It does my soul good to eat some of Andy's Sage Fried Chicken Benedict every time I go there. Because the food is so huge, you can totally use it as two meals, so it ends up not being wildly expensive for the amount of food you get.

When we got back to Boca Raton, we headed straight for the pool to try and get a little bit of a tan because we knew that October in Provo wasn't going to help us in this endeavor at all. Fun fact: pools in Vegas aren't heated because the ground gets too hot, so the water was absolutely freezing cold because it was only about 75 degrees outside. Buker, Sala, and I each tried to get in and could not stand it. Mostly we just wanted the tan anyways, so we ended up just laying out and then taking pictures for probably around an hour or so. When Sala posted some of them on her Instagram, her brother Alema almost called her out for not going camping, but we kept him under wraps.

After our relaxing pool day, we headed to the Strip. We walked for a bit and went to Shake Shack, which is always a good choice for custard. We finished off our trip to the Strip by going to M&M World. I'm not sure why that place is so fun late at night, but I've never been disappointed when I go there. While inside M&M World, a couple of these black guys came up to us and wanted to chat us up. They got our Instagrams, and I'm pretty sure one of them still follows me on Instagram. It was one of those moments that you're not sure exactly what happened, but it was funny anyways. They wanted some pictures with Buker, so they got those and we left for Boca through the Coke bottle elevator.
When we got back to Boca, we decided to go unwind for the day in the hot tub. It was honestly hysterical because Buker really wanted to get some cool night pictures of us in the hot tub. When she was about to take a Boomerang (a repeating forward and backward video) for me and Sala, we could not stop laughing or get it together. I've attached the video because I think it is absolutely hysterical. We ended up getting kicked out of the hot tub by security because we were there until after midnight when it apparently closes. We headed back to our rooms to sleep.
Day 3
In the morning, we went to my friend Shae's farewell before her mission to Thailand. She gave an awesome talk. We then headed back to Boca to lay out for a few hours before driving all the way home. Overall, it was a really low key trip, which was a really nice change from the stress of school and work.
Life Lessons
Country dancing can be really fun.
Wash off any permanent marker you have on your hands before going to bed.
Bikinis will always make you look better or worse than you think. You might have to take tons of pictures to get even one good one, especially if you don't know what you're doing like me.
Low key traveling with two of your best girls is REALLY fun.
